The SHAQO Platform is Somalia’s first funding and implementation platform dedicated to creating decent work. We bring together local organizations, businesses, and government entities in a powerful alliance to create decent work opportunities for Somalia’s youth. Born from the SHAQO Consortium – a partnership of four pioneering Somali organizations with over 60 years of combined experience – we’re building Somalia’s first coordinated network for employment transformation.
How we create impact
Coordinated Action Across Regions
Operating in 10 regions across Somalia, we connect partners to share resources, align efforts, and create greater impact together. Our network breaks down geographic barriers, enabling successful programs to spread from one region to another.
Shared Learning Between Partners
We facilitate knowledge exchange between organizations doing similar work in different contexts. When a training program succeeds in Mogadishu, partners in Bosaso can learn from and adapt it. When a business model works in Hargeisa, others can replicate it across regions.
Scaling Successful Programs
The platform helps partners take proven solutions to scale. We provide:
Resources for expansion
Implementation guidance
Quality assurance
Impact measurement
Regional adaptation support
Collective Impact Measurement
Together, we track and measure our impact on youth employment through:
Standardized metrics
Shared data collection
Regular reporting
Impact evaluation
Learning documentation
